Did you know there is
now an education requirement you must meet to apply to take the PMP
exam?
Yes...here's a quote
from the PMI-ISSG May 2002 "Bits" Newsletter:
"PMP
CERTIFICATION
Effective March 4th,
2002 – There are changes to the requirements to apply for the
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification Examination in
2002. There is now an additional requirement of 35 hours of
project management education and a discontinuance of the
requirement to submit a resume or copy of the degree. These hours
must include content on project quality, scope, time, cost, human
resources, communications, risk, procurement, and integration
management. There is no time limit associated with when the 35
hours are accrued. Applicants can satisfy this requirement by
successfully completing courses, workshops and training sessions
through one of the many types of education providers. For more
information, please contact Mrs. Iesha D. Brown, PMI Certification
Administrator."
Special note from your pal Bluejeans
-- You must meet this educational requirement prior
to applying to take the PMP examination as you must document in
your application. See Page 5 of the Certification Handbook on PMI's
Web Site for details.
