When I was at the Our Lady of Lebanon
National Shrine, I was struck by how quiet and peaceful
things were there--except where Mama birds had their young.
The chirping and cheeping and whistles were unnerving.
You can imagine my
surprise when I followed the noises and found the Mamas going into a
600 Volt AC power mast box to tend to their babies!

You can see one Mama
bird entering the top hole in the box and another one sitting on the
wire just underneath her. A third Mama bird, partly hidden by
the third set of wires, is sticking out of the bottom
hole.
All I can say is "Holy Mother of
God, protect these bird brains!"
